Is a name of investment stokvel where each members
contribute a fixed amount of money regularly (monthly) to a shared fund; the fund
is been distribute on a rotating basis for general needs for each member in every
monthly when the accumulated money paid out, each member receives the money
which is collected during the period. The organisation started in the year 2021 by Mr
Mthunzi, he realized that many people were struggling financial, to build, to start
business, to achieve significant financial goals and some they were spending the
money unnecessary then, he come with this idea of stokvel and where he recruits
some members and they started investing and each every we recruit members who
are willing to join the stokvel.
The aim
The aim for this organization is to save money and it provides a way for members to achieve significant financial goals such as buying property or starting a business.
The benefits are:
- The peer pressure encourages members to save.
- Reduces chances of savings being stolen if the money is moving rather than
saving the money at home. - You can earn better returns, at a lower cost. Banks offer higher interest rates on
bigger amounts and banking costs are lowered (or in some cases, free) if the
amount is large enough. - Build trust as sense of community and socialising. Stokvel members traditionally
meet regularly and make an occasion of the meetings. - Knowing when a windfall will be received makes it easier to plan one’s finances.
